So folks, for those who care...

Who are you rooting for in the World Cup?

I can't believe how big this thing is. If only we could get the world this excited about Jesus!!

I voted for England, just to see what would happen if they actually did win. I mean really, could you imagine the epicenter of soccer hooliganism completely imploding during celebrations? A friend and I were discussing this, and we are convinced that FIFA has the world cup rigged so that this is impossible.

On another note - GO SCOTLAND!!! click here for the Unofficial Scotland World Cup Song - you'll have to play a little game to get to the song.

Kind of like the Leafs and the Stanley Cup.

The longer it goes without the Leafs/England winning the top prize, the worse its going to be when they do win....

I watched a bit of footy on the weekend. I love the drama, but I'm not sure how many more 1-0 games I can watch, esp. when the goal is scored in the first 5 minutes.

Yaaaaawn.

You have to admit, the sheer huge-ness of the World Cup makes it worth watching. I mean, where else in the world will you get to see Ivory Coast compete against Portugal? Or where else will you see Iran and the US (potentially) play each other in a game? Countries that have been in wars with each other have called truces so that they could sit down together and watch a game. Soccer is truly a worldwide sport.

I'll be the first to admit, I never follow soccer except for during the world cup. I just think it's so amazing that it's so big, and so many people live and die over it. Some of those fans make Leaf fans look like chumps...
For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. So they are without excuse.

I'll be rooting for the US, even though they got clobbered today. When/if they are eliminated, I'll be rooting for England.

Take the test...What Team Should You Play For In The FIFA World Cup?

The quiz is about 20 questions and I got Korea:

Korea Republic deserves your support!
Korea Republic

We can see the surprise on your face after being matched to Korea Republic, but we bet that your energy and enthusiasm will quickly return when we explain why. Korea Republic impressed the world when they hosted the last World Cup and reached the semi-finals. This was partly done through good planning, but mainly through energy and self belief. Does this sound familiar yet? We thought it might. Other people may complain about an off-side decision, or complain that they never have any luck, but you're the sort of person who just gets stuck in and knows that with enough persistence you can achieve practically anything. A gregarious person, you thrive on the support of others, especially those who don't just sing when you're winning, and let's hope you keep winning for a long time!

England deserves your support!

We can tell that a patriotic person like you would have severe problems supporting any team other than your own country. In fact we wouldn't mind betting that you'd rather throw away your remote control than cheer for any of England's main rivals in a 'neutral' match. Our training coach has told us that you can be very focused on reaching your goals when it really matters, regardless of whether that is being first to the ball, or the first to finish their pint. The question is; can you maintain this focus throughout a long period of time? Especially when it runs to extra time? Not to mention the extra stress when it all comes down to one single action? Pah! Give you a penalty to take and it will go into the top corner of the net no problem – that is unless your foot slips!

US out by Ghana!!! That was a good one. #5th team? And Czeck (stupid spelling) #2 team? Both out.

Now Argentina vs Germany, that'll be a match!!!

For me, I always root for Brazil and Argentina, and because of Bekham, England. There's a firefix plugin FootieFox. U gotta get it.

It would have been good if the refs didn't blow it, but the refs have been bad for all of the World Cup, so what can I say? They were really bad during yesterdays game between Holland and Portugal.

Yeah, I felt bad for them today. I thought they were better team against the Ukraine, but they choked when it came to the PK's.
