Dear saints,
Please be praying for the following people here in Sioux Falls. You may not realize how much we view you as an active part of the work of God here in Sioux Falls. You are a gift to us from God, fellow laborers who are able to help bear the weight of the prayer needs of this portion of the Lord's work in Sioux Falls. We continue to thank God for the privilege we have of being able to share our prayer requests with those who will spend earnest time in prayer over these matters. May God bless your lives and allow you to partake in the joy of seeing God's hand at work in the lives of others.
Richard (Jamie A.'s son) - In the past he has left Jamie's house as soon as Natalie and Jamie begin Bible study. In the past he has become very upset with the idea that his mother was studying the Bible. Today he accompanied Jamie and Ed to the Family Bible Hour. Tomorrow he is planning to join Jamie and Natalie for their Bible study. Please be praying for his salvation. He has had a very rough background and needs salvation. Pray for conviction of sin, repentance and salvation in his life.
Charlie K. - pray for his salvation and an opportunity for Larry to visit more with him. Pray for the entire family. We are planning to invite them to our house for a meal. Karen is the only member of the family who is saved.
Paul S. - A contact through Bob G. He has attended a few Bible studies and one Family Bible Hour meeting. He appears to be a believer who needs to be restored to the Lord. Pray for spiritual growth and an opportunity for Larry to visit with him about the things which are keeping him from walking in obedience to the Lord.
Daniel J. (Norma H.'s husband) - Natalie and I will be giving Norma a ride to visit her husband in prison. Pray for an opportunity to share the gospel. Pray for his salvation. Pray for our visit with Norma on the way to and from the prison in Sandstone, MN.
Tony H. - Pray for obedience to the Lord in his life.
Philip J. - Pray for conviction of sin in his life and repentance. He is choosing to willfully do things which bring public dishonor to the name of Jesus Christ, yet he does not see anything wrong with his actions. His response to counsel and scripture has not been good. Ask God to make it evident in Philip's life whether or not he really does belong to Christ.
Sara H. - Pray for spiritual understanding and obedience in her life. Pray for the possibility of Mrs. Huntington meeting with Sarah on a regular basis after the Huntington's arrive in Sioux Falls.
Jesharelah (our daughter)- pray that she will have opportunities to share the gospel with others.
Frank - Professed salvation at "Christianity on Trial" meetings. I am meeting with him on an irregular basis. His interest in spiritual things is minimal. Pray for evidence of salvation in his life and interest in Bible study.
As Huntington's arrive in Sioux Falls this week, please ask God to open doors for them to begin meeting with a few additional people from the contact list we have developed.
Open doors at Augustana College - please ask God to open a door for Larry to begin a Bible study with college students at Augustana.
Kids clubs at Terry Redlin and Hayward Elementary schools. - Pray for salvation of souls and good opportunities for us to share the gospel with their parents.
Praise and thanks.
1. Spiritual growth in Jamie A., Bob G., Bob S., Karen K., Tony H., David K., Alicia K. as well as a few other believers who we had contact with during the outreach.
2. The arrival of the co-laborers. Mark and Charlene Huntington will move to town on September 27. They will be a huge help with contacting more people from the outreach, helping with responsibilities at the local meeting, and a source of mature fellowship for Natalie and myself.
3. God's care for us, the believers who are meeting with us and those involved in Bible studies with Natalie or me.
4. Continued open doors for the gospel in Sioux Falls.
In Him, Larry Sax

Praying saints,
Pray for Richard A. (Jamie A.'s son) - He was at meeting again this morning. Pray for his salvation. He does not think clearly because of the impact of drugs on his mind. Ask God to help him clearly understand the gospel.
Please pray for Karen U. Natalie and I talked with her this evening. She is very confused about where she will spend eternity. She has no peace with God. She comes close to understanding salvation and then backs away. It appears that the Holy Spirit is diligently trying to draw her to Christ. He is revealing the hopelessness of her situation apart from Christ. Please pray for her salvation. Pray that the Spirit of God will convict her of sin. Pray that the Spirit will clearly show her the way of salvation. Pray that He will bring to her remembrance the things about Christ which she needs to understand to be saved. Pray that she will continue to attend Bible studies and meetings on Sundays.
Please pray diligently for Tony H. He called me this evening noticeably disturbed and wanting to obey God but struggling to make the right decisions. He is going through intense struggles between the spirit and the flesh. He knows what he needs to do to obey God, but emotional attachments to people and things are keeping him from breaking the last ties to certain sins in his life. Ask God to continue convicting him of sin and re-iterate to Tony the steps of obedience which God wants him to take. Ask God to help him make a clean break from sin. He is so worried about how his decision will affect another person. This is causing a delay in obedience. Ask God to show Tony that only God can provide his friend with the help she needs. Ask God to encourage Tony in each step of obedience he takes.
Thank you very much for your prayers.
In Him,
Larry Sax

Dear Saints,
Exodus 17:11 "So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed." What a valuable lesson regarding the importance of prayer.
We continue to rejoice at the goodness of our God and the effectiveness of the prayers of the saints. Thank you to each person who has sent us notes of encouragement. Our God is so gracious and tender in His care for us. We trust all who read these updates have been challenged to spend more time in prayer and sharing of the gospel. What an effective combination! How many lives have been changed in Sioux Falls and elsewhere because believers have been praying for God's blessing on gospel efforts and believers have obediently went out with the gospel into various communities.
Notes of Praise: Bob G. is being able to move into a different apartment on Thursday. He is very grateful to be able to move out of the building where spiritual warfare is an obvious daily occurrence. Also, Bob's health has improved significantly over the last few days. Spiritual growth of new
believers and those restored to the Lord. Arrival of Mark and Charlene Huntington (& family) to help with the work as they have opportunity. Continued open doors for the gospel. Jeshanah Sax's professed salvation. Arrival of Jay Clark, a young man whom the Lord has moved to Sioux Falls, who is able to contribute to the meeting in several ways.
This afternoon I went out to do some door-to-door evangelism. Due to a full schedule of Bible studies and other follow-up work, it has been two weeks since my last opportunity to go door-to-door. I was eager to go out, thinking it had been too long since I last took the gospel to someone's door. I was only able to go out for about 2 hours, but the Lord had receptive hearts waiting to hear the Word.
Ryan K.- asked for prayers for himself and his mother concerning their health. She has recently had knee and back surgery. He is suffering from sleep apnea. His health issues opened the door for the gospel. I asked, "What would happen to you if tonight you stopped breathing due to sleep apnea and did not start breathing again?" He was very thoughtful and admitted he was not sure. He realized that he had done things that were not right in God's eyes. He knew that sin demands an eternal penalty, but was unsure if he would suffer that penalty or not. I was able to open the scriptures which he acknowledged as God's Word full of truth. After looking at several verses he realized he deserved to die for his sins and Christ's death was sufficient to cleanse him from sin. He realized all he needed to do to receive eternal life was "believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ." Before I left I asked him again, "What would happen to you if tonight you stopped breathing due to sleep apnea and did not start breathing again?" He responded, I would be in heaven for sure because Christ has died for my sins. What a joy! Please pray for Ryan's spiritual growth. He has been invited to Bible study on Thursday evenings. He is from a Catholic background and does not understand the error of the Catholic church. Pray for him as he reads his Bible. Ask God to reveal the truth of His Word to him by the working of the Spirit.
Dan C. - He is not sure which god is the real God. But he does acknowledge that God would not lie. We discussed the claims in scripture that the God of the Bible does not lie. I challenged him to read the gospel of John, asking God to reveal the truth to him which he is willing to do. Please pray that Dan will actually read these portions of the Bible and that God to not allow him to have peace until he does. Ask God to reveal Himself to Dan and show him that his goodness will never gain him entrance into heaven. Ask God to reveal to Dan that he is a sinner deserving of hell and that Christ's sacrifice is his only hope for eternal life. He demonstrated interest in coming to the Thursday evening Bible study.
Jim - Pray for his salvation. While I was sharing the gospel with him at his door, his teenage son stood behind him with a bright smile nodding his head at each explanation of Christ's sufficiency for our salvation. Meanwhile his father (Jim) grew more and more uneasy. Jim was certain his goodness would gain him entrance into heaven. Jim was uneasy with the knowledge of his sinfulness and the penalty for sin. He clearly heard of his need to trust in Christ alone for salvation.
Also pray for a young lady who is willing to read a Bible if we give one to her. She was surprised to hear she could know for certain whether or not she will go to heaven when she dies. Ask God to make her heart receptive to a follow-up visit by one of the ladies in our meeting.
Please pray for further contact with these four individuals. Ask God to continue to reveal the truth of sin, judgment, righteousness and Christ's sacrifice for their sins to them as they ponder our conversations and read His Word.
Please pray for God's blessing on special meetings we will be having October 14 & 15. Ask God to use them to build a stronger foundation in the lives of those who are involved in Bible studies and gathering with us on Sundays. Scott Degroff will be opening the Word for Saturday night, Sunday morning and Sunday evening.
Salvation - Please continue to pray for the salvation of the following people.
Karen U. - God continues to work in her life revealing her need for salvation.
Charlie K. - He is continuing to go through trials in his life.
Richard A. - He has expressed some interest in Bible study. What a change from a month ago when he left the house every time the Bible was opened.
Ed A.- Ask God to not allow him to be unaffected by the changes in Jamie's life.
Krystal H. - She is having some awful things happen in her life. Her parents have openly expressed their desire that she would have been still born. Plead for her salvation. She so needs to hear that a Father in heaven exists who desires her to not only have spiritual life, but also eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Katie J.- Pray for openness to God as she begins Bible study with Natalie and a heart sensitive to sin.
Kim J. - Needs clear understanding of the gospel and the truth of scriptures.
Connie - has breast cancer. Is thinking about eternity. Ask God to give her the health and clarity of thought to comprehend the gospel.
Jamie G. - Continues to shift between animosity towards God and wanting to have peace with Him through the finished work of Christ. She does not think God can forgive her and bring healing to her life.
Shirley - Native American who is unsaved
Mary G. - health, needs to understand error of Mormon's and Catholic church
Brian K. - pray for clear understanding of the gospel.
Tyler S. - Randy's son. Pray for increased interest in spiritual things.

Other Sioux Falls outreach efforts to pray for Good News, Kids' Clubs at Hayward and Terry Redlin Outreach to teenager's in Hayward area. - bi-monthly free pizza and Bible study. Open doors for Bible study at Augustana Open doors for high school Bible studies. Continued door-to- door efforts. We try to use this as an opportunity to encourage young believers to share the gospel and to keep evangelistic desire fresh in our lives.

For a while now the "Good news on the move" project has been trekking across the USA. Now a similar project is being launched in Canada!!
The "Cross Canada Cruisers" is an initiative of Jabe Nicholson & Uplook and will actually feature 2 teams, one on each coast of Canada. These teams will drive 'classic' restored cars across the country and meet up in Ontario for a large outreach. The C3 project as it's called was featured in this months Uplook magazine - PDF here:The teams will follow a similar routine as used on the Good news on the move team in the USA...special handouts that tie in to the symbolic message of the cars are in final stages of development, including a gospel text with a painting

Paul wrote:Philippians 1:15-20 Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former proclaim Christ out of rivalry, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment. What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death.
